Quilting Bees

    St James Sewing Circle

Do you quilt, sew, crochet, knit, hand piece, paper piece, cross stitch or anything with fabric, textiles or yarn?  Then you need to join us!  The St. James Sewing Circle started off as a quilting bee in January 2018, but soon expanded to other arts dealing with fabric or textiles.  Weekly, you may find up to 20 women in happy camaraderie in the Parish Hall. We meet every Thursday from 10:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.   We make many different kind of items: baby blankets, tote bags, full size afghans, quilts and wall art. Many of these items are donated to charity, such as the Community Cupboard with Las Colcheras Quilt Guild, The MMC Cancer Center, NICU and Pediatrics units at MMC, as well as The Linus Project.  Most recently, a queen-sized top has been pieced and is ready for quilting. Once complete, it will be given to St. James as an expression of our gratitude.  Lynn Marshall and Jennifer Terrazas (both members of St. James) spear head this weekly group.  Please feel free to contact either with questions.  Jennifer may be reached at 575 993-0498 and Lynn may be reached at 575 644-4902.
