"Padrecita" Jeanne Lutz began serving as our Interim Priest-in-Charge on May 9, 2018.  She will be with us for the next 6 to 12 months, perhaps a little longer.  "Padrecita" comes to us from a similar position at St. Francis on the Hill Episcopal Church, El Paso.  Prior to that, she was priest-in-charge at two other El Paso churches, St. Alban's and St. Christopher's.  Before coming home to The Episcopal Church, Padrecita Jeanne served for eight years at Peace Lutheran Church, Las Cruces, as associate paster (2003 - 2011), under the terms of the full communion agreement, Called to Common Mission.

"Padrecita" and her husband, Bill, are both graduates of the University of Texas at Austin. They moved to Las Cruces in 1969 where Bill joined the law firm now known as Martine & Lutz. In 1982 they moved to Albuquerque, during which time Padrecita Jeanne was ordained to the diaconate and the priesthood, serving two congregations in Albququerque before she and her family moved back to Las Cruces in 1991.  During her almost-30 years as a priest, Padrecita Jeanne has also served as a hospice chaplain, campus minister in both the Lutheran and Episcopal Church, and Dean of the Southwest Deanery for the Diocese of the Rio Grande.  In 2008 she received her Doctor of Ministry from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.

Bill and Jeanne have two sons, William Jr. and David Price Lutz.
